Our Christmas cards are on sale until 16 December at the Cards for Good Causes pop-up shops at St John’s Church, West Byfleet and at Christ Church, Jubilee Square, Woking. They are also on sale at the Main Reception at the Hospital from 12 November. Our stall at the Horsell Fair on 7 December raised £260 thank you to all who came.
Carol Service and Christmas Decorations
The Carol Service for patients at the Hospital was on 11 December. That day we put up decorations at the Hospital which looked very festive for the Carol Service. This was attended by the Mayor Cllr Beryl Hunwicks and the CEO of CSH Steve Flanagan. The Service was led by Revd Lucy Brierley with popular Carols. Tea and mince pies completed the festivities enjoyed by patients and staff.
Regrettably, because of the Covid19 emergency, we have had to postpone our Quiz Evening at Horsell Village Hall, planned for 27 March. We will try to find another date when we can, but no one can tell at the moment when that is likely to be. Meanwhile, the entry fees are being refunded. It is a great shame that we cannot hold this enjoyable event, but compared with other issues at the moment we cannot mope too long over it.
50th Anniversary Celebrations and AGM
We celebrate our 50th anniversary in 2020. We had hoped to link our celebration to our AGM, which will be on 20th April. The AGM will go ahead, but as a closed meeting with only enough people to make a quorum, and very possibly as a conference call of some kind. Papers for the AGM, including a proxy form, will be circulated to all Members around the end of March, but they will not be able to attend in person. We will find an appropriate occasion for celebrating our 50 years when conditions improve.
Our annual Plant Sale will be over the weekend of 13/14 June, alongside the Horsell Garden Safari
